Corkers:
Double Lever Corker (included) The double-lever corker is the most popular.
It is easy to use and one person can operate it easily.
The cork is inserted into the slot and is compressed as it is being pushed into the wine bottle. Because it is compressed as it is inserted into the bottle, it leaves a dimple in the cork. This doesn't affect the aging but isn't as attractive as other corkers that leave a smooth "polished" look to the cork.
Portuguese Floor Corker (Adds $50) Bench corkers are great for corking your wine.
The Portuguese corker has a plastic iris that pre-compresses the corks. The handle that pushes the cork into the bottle is adjustable so you can control how far the cork is inserted. The bottle locks into place as you are corking to keep the wine bottles in place.
The floor corker is the best way to go if you make a lot of wine—it's practically indestructible, extremely efficient, and will save you a ton of time.
Italian Floor Corker (Adds $120) Bench corkers are great for corking your wine.
The Italian corker has a brass iris that pre-compresses the corks. The handle that pushes the cork into the bottle is adjustable so you can control how far the cork is inserted. The bottle locks into place as you are corking to keep the wine bottles in place.
Our premium floor corker is suitable for hobby or small-scale winery use. Long handle for lots of leverage, brass iris jaws, locking bottle platform, and adjustable plunger depth. This corker can cork Champagne bottles.
Will cork 375 ml, 750 ml, or 1.5 liter wine bottles; can also be used to crimp crown caps on beer bottles with the optional crown cap adapter.

Degassing Rods:
Degassing is an important step in the kit winemaking process. It helps push co2 out of suspension, which allows the wine clear and age faster. We suggest using a degassing tool to ensure this step is properly done.
Mix-Stir (included) Designed for stirring beer/wine and degassing. Manufactured in high quality polycarbonate with ABS blades and steel insert. The blades act like a turbine for maximum mixing and stirring efficiency.
The mix-stir fits any electric hand drill (variable speed drill with reversing capability recommended.)
The mix-stir comes standard in a 24" length.
The mix-stir is long enough to be used in large primary fermenters and barrels. The plastic blades also make it safe to use with glass carboys.

7.9 Gallon Primary Fermenter with Drilled & Grommeted LidMany winemakers use a food grade plastic bucket as the primary fermenter to ferment the must (unfermented wine). This is great for making wine as the large opening of the bucket makes the initial mixing of the wine easier.
A lid with a grommeted hole and airlock is used to seal the fermenting bucket. An airlock is filled halfway with water to allow CO2 to escape while keeping bacteria and oxygen away from the wine.
One 6-Gallon Secondary Fermenter with Stoppers. Secondary fermentation simply means that the wine is transferred to a second vessel to finish out the fermentation process. Using a second vessel accomplishes two things.
First, it helps to break up surface tension causing particulates to drop out of suspension. This results in a clearer, more shelf stable wine.
Second, it is easier to avoid sediment when bottling because you can see where the sediment is.
A 6 gallon carboy is a good secondary fermenter for six gallon batches, as it reduces the amount of airspace which can lead to oxidation.
A stopper and airlock is used to seal the glass carboy. The airlock is filled halfway with water to allow CO2 to escape while keeping bacteria and oxygen away from the wine.
Glass carboys have other benefits.
Glass carboys do not absorb odors.
Easily sanitized.
Cannot be scratched.
Will last forever. (Unless you drop them)
Bottle FillerThe bottle filler attaches to the tubing that is attached to the auto-siphon and has a valve on the tip. The valve releases the wine into the bottle when pressed on the bottom of the bottle. Fill the wine to the very top of the bottle and remove bottle filler. The filler displaces the exact amount of air space needed to cork your wine. It is a very handy tool.
Auto-Siphon & Tubing The racking cane allows you to transfer your wort from one vessel to another. It is made of hard plastic and is shaped like a cane. The end of the cane has an anti-sediment tip that draws liquid from above so that sediment can be avoided while transferring. Tubing attaches to the racking cane and should reach to the bottom of the vessel you are transferring to so that it dos not splash and introduce unwanted oxygen into the beer. Our basic starter kits includes an auto-siphon, making the transferring of your wine a breeze.
HydrometerThe hydrometer allows you to take gravity readings that help determine the alcohol level of your wine and more importantly, it allows you to follow the progress of your fermenting wine to ensure it is working and to let you know when it is ready to bottle.
Wine Thief
Draws sample allowing you to take hydrometer (and other) readings. Releases sample back into fermentor when done.
Simply dip once for a quick sample.
Unique design allows you to insert a standard hydrometer directly into The Thief.
Just touch the tip to the rim to empty The Thief.
