xGlass carboys are preferred by some brewers over plastic buckets for a variety of reasons.
6.5 and 6 gallons carboys make good primary fermenters for five gallon batches. 5 gallon carboys are a good secondary fermenter for five gallon batches, as it reduces the amount of airspace which can lead to oxidation.
Seal with a Small Universal Stopper or a standard 6.5 rubber stopper.
- Glass carboys do not absorb odors.
- Easily sanitized.
- Cannot be scratched.
- Will last forever. (Unless you drop them)
